This Week in Global Entrepreneurship - July 7, 2017

I'm back in the US after a month abroad and am missing London already. I'm writing this from a coffee shop in Austin before heading back to New York next week, my parents sold our childhood home so I'm helping them move out over the next few days. This week's recap covers news from Austin to France.

  • I've been an avid reader of the Scaleup Institute since it launched and look forward to their newsletter every week. The team will be hosting the first-ever Scale-up Summit on July 11th to discuss challenges and opportunities to scaling up. You can check out full details here
  • AI has dominated my conversations these days so I was excited to see the news about Austin-based SparkCognition's $32.5M series B raise
  • The long-awaited French Tech Visa opened this week. It's a simplified, fast-track procedure to obtain four years of residence in France. Applications are only open to startup founders accepted to an incubator or accelerator, employees hired by a French startup, or investors.
  • Felix Capital Partners has invested in some of the most successful UK startups and just raised $150M to invest in European and US technology startups.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
